BASIC IYENGAR YOGA
This class helps build a strong foundation in the alignment required to establish a strong practice. Great for new students seeking to develop a yoga practice or more experienced students hoping to dive deeper into the poses. With a different focus each week (standing poses, forward bends and twists, backbends, restorative), this class centers around precise alignment, with modifications to suit a wide range of abilities.
For continuing students with at least 6 months of Iyengar Yoga experience (or several years practice in another style of yoga). This class focuses on refining the actions of basic yoga poses and introducing more advanced poses, such as headstand and backward extension (camel, wheel). Pranayama (yogic breathing) is also introduced.
Restorative yoga practice helps counter the stresses and strains of daily life by cultivating attention on ease and relaxation. Postures are often practiced using props like bolsters, blankets and blocks to support the body. This physical support helps students to stay in postures comfortably without straining. The muscles can relax, heart rate lowers and the nervous system can be soothed. Restorative postures boost the immune system and accelerate the body’s natural healing process.
MAT PILATES - BEGINNER & BEYOND
Each class will work to balance all muscle groups’ strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles with each movement. Modifications are suggested for beginners or for those with physical limitations. Mat Pilates is a challenging yet safe method to sculpt your body and to feel increased agility in your every day movements.
YOGA FOR KIDS
This class offers a joyful practice for children between 8 and 12 .
Yoga teaches children in a playful way how to concentrate, increase self-confidence and improve their motor skills. Regular yoga practice offers effective help with hyperactivity and stress. But above all, yoga for children is a lot of fun.
MOVE BEYOND PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS CLASS
For students dealing with acute/ chronic pains.
This class has been specifically designed for students recovering from injuries or pain.
The teacher will be using specifically engineered props to give precise support and pressure to the areas that are stiff so they can be ‘felt’ again.
The class has been structured to alleviate the tension in the body without disturbing balance and coordination thereby increasing mobility of specific body parts.
DYNAMIC INTERMEDIATE CLASS
For students with minimum 1 year experience of Iyengar yoga practice, with no acute physical limitations.
A series of yoga poses linked together mindfully to bring out alignment, breathe and awareness that will invigorate your body, activate your mind and lift your spirit.
Designed to increase energy, fitness and flexibility, the class complements the regular intermediate lessons.
Some reasons for individual instruction:
